Trip Overview
ABC Short Trek is one of the most popular treks in Nepal, and for good reason. This trek offers a unique combination of natural beauty, cultural diversity, and adventure that is hard to find elsewhere. The Annapurna region is home to some of the most spectacular mountain landscapes in the world, and the Short ABC Trek allows you to experience these mountains up close and personal.
As you trek higher, the landscape becomes more rugged and the views of the mountains become more spectacular. Along the way, you will pass through several traditional villages such as Ghandruk, Chomrong, and Dovan, which offer a glimpse into the local culture and way of life. These villages also serve as great places to rest, replenish supplies, and spend the night. One of the highlights of the Short ABC Trek is the stunning views of the Annapurna range. You will have the opportunity to see some of the most famous mountains in the world, including Annapurna first, second, third, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Gangapurna,Fishtail and of course, the majestic Annapurna itself. The Annapurna base camp, located at an altitude of 4,130 meters, offers panoramic views of the entire Annapurna range and is the perfect place to enjoy the beauty of the mountains and take some unforgettable photos.
The short ABC Trek is a challenging but rewarding experience that requires a good level of fitness and preparation. It is important to note that altitude sickness can be a concern, so it is essential to take the necessary precautions and acclimatize properly. The best time for booking a short ABC Trek is from September to November and March to May, as the weather is the most stable during these months.
Starting with a domestic flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara, the Short ABC Trek Itinerary begins. After that, you will take a private vehicle from Pokhara to Siwai, where the trip begins. The route to Chomrong from Siwai will take you via lush rhododendron and bamboo woods, breathtaking terraced farms, and suspension bridges. Views of the Machhapuchre and Annapurna massifs are available as you go to Chomrong. The next day, you will depart Chomrong and go to Dovan. Now, as your road continues through more rhododendrons and bamboo trees, you will see that it is gradually ascending.
Your Short ABC Trek route will leave Dovan on the fourth day and go toward Deurali through Modi Khola, the Himalayas, and Hinku Cave. The most interesting day of your Short ABC Trek Itinerary will be Day 5, as you will get the opportunity to visit two Base Camps. After passing Machhapuchhre Base Camp, proceed through Modi Khola Glacier Valley in the direction of Annapurna Base Camp. You may obtain stunning views of Hiunchuli, the Annapurna ranges, including Annapurna I, Khangsar Kang, Gangapurna, and Machhapuchhre, from Annapurna Base Camp. You will spend the night at Annapurna Base Camp.
On the sixth day of the Short ABC Trek journey, the descent begins after spending the night at the Annapurna Base Camp and ends in Sinuwa. You will depart Sinuwa and go to Jhinu Danda the next morning. When you get to Jhinu Danda, you may unwind in the local natural hot springs. Once you have had a wonderful time in Jhinu Dada, your short AB C Trek will lead you to Siwai, from where you may drive to Pokhara. The rest of the day will be spent touring the fascinating Pokhara Valley, shopping, or boating on Phewa Lake. Your Short ABC Trek will come to an end the next morning after you finish eating breakfast and board a tourist bus from Pokhara to Kathmandu. You will arrive at Bamboo crossing Khuldighar after a brief trek through the woods and a short, flat descent. You will descend steeply to Dovan, the gorge’s bottom, after passing through a soggy bamboo grove.
Due to a nearby temple, loud noises are prohibited in the jungle on the route between Dovan and Himalaya. As a result, the walk is quiet. The Short ABC Trek route has several waterfalls and first passes through bamboo woods before switching to rhododendron forests. As you continue up the route to Hinku cave after reaching Himalaya, clearings and glacial rivers become visible. After a short distance, the route initially descends to the river before rising once again to reach Deurali, which gives fascinating views of the valley below. Accommodations for the night in a Deurali teahouse.
After a strenuous ascent, you will arrive at Machhapuchhre Base Camp on the Short Annapurna Base Camp Trekking route from Deurali. Views of Annapurna, Machhapuchhre, Gangapurna, Himchuli and other mountains are spectacular since they can be seen from all directions. A more significant, less vegetated path leads to ABC. Awareness of potential risks is advised since the area is vulnerable to avalanches. Mountain vistas get more straightforward as you ascend from MBC. Awe-inspiring views of snow-covered mountains, such as the Annapurna range, Singuchuli, Macchhapuchhre, Tent Peak, etc., may be seen from Annapurna Base Camp.
You will see a stunning dawn today above the sparkling Alps. At sunrise, the peaks’ 360-degree alignment is magnificent. Mardi Himal, Machhapuchhre, Annapurna III, Gangapurna, Singu Chuli, Khangsar Kang, Annapurna I, Hiunchuli, and Annapurna South all have imposing appearances. The view is breathtaking. If you like, you may learn more about their culture, way of life, customs, and religions. You will arrive in Sinuwa after several hours of hiking.

You will arrive at Jhinu Danda after a 45-minute descent. Lunch will be served in Jhinu Danda, a natural hot springs destination. You will continue your journey from Jhinu Danda to Siwai, where you may pick up a private vehicle and travel to Pokhara. Pokhara can be reached in around 3 hours. You will board a tourist bus this morning after waking up in Pokhara to travel back to Kathmandu. The 205 kilometers separating Pokhara from Kathmandu follow the enthralling Marsyangdi River and the Trishuli River. The route from Pokhara to Kathmandu passes through various attractive market areas, including Damauli bazaar, Dumre bazaar, Mugling Bazaar, and others.
