Nar Phu Valley Trek Kang La Pass Trek is located in restricted areas of Nepal which are rich in cultural and natural beauty. Nar Phu Valley Trek has been open to foreigners since 2003 with special permits and criteria. However, trekkers must join a legal trekking company to get a Nar Phu Valley Trekking Permit. As well, trekkers must take a government-licensed trekking guide. Good Karma Treks is an eligible trekking company in Nepal that can arrange Nar Phu Valley trekking permits and license-holder trekking guides.
Nar Phu Valley is one of the most untouched and beautiful regions in Nepal. Nar Phu Valley Trek is one of the best destinations in the Nepal Himalayas for those seeking a glimpse into a region of raw beauty and Tibetan culture. The Nar Phu Valley is inhabited by Tibetan refugees, where you can get a real experience of the Tibetan people and culture. Besides its cultural importance, Narphu Valley is also famous for its stunning glimpses of beautiful mountains such as Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Tilicho Peak, and Lamjung Himal.
We start the Nar Phu Kang La Pass Trek from Dharapani after driving from Kathmandu. From Dharapani to Koto, we follow the route of the Annapurna Circuit Trek. During the Nar Phu Valley Trek, we cross several high passes, picturesque villages, ancient monasteries, and narrow canyons to reach remote Nar and Phu villages near Tibet. After visiting the Nar Phu Valley, you will be rejoining the Annapurna Circuit Trails in Manang Village. We continue our trek ahead to Throng-La Pass (5416m), passing through Yak Kharka and Thorong Phedi.
After crossing one of the highest passes (Thorong La Pass), you will reach Muktinath. Muktinath is a common pilgrimage site for Hindu and Buddhist people. From Muktinath, we take a Jeep to Jomsom and fly back to Pokhara. Our trek ends in Pokhara because most of the trekkers want to spend a few extra days in Pokhara after the trek. But on request, we can arrange the trip to Kathmandu from Pokhara as well.
Kang La (5,200m) and Thorong La (5,416m) passes are the highest points of the Nar Phu Valley Kang La Pass Trek Itinerary. Good Karma Treks offers tea house treks around Nar Phu Valley using local homestays and tea houses, including simple Nepali cuisine. For more information and inquiries regarding Nar Phu Valley Kang La Pass Cost and Itinerary, feel free to contact us via WhatsApp or email.

From the middle of March through the middle of May, the temperature begins to rise.
September to November (autumn)

Nar Phu Valley Trek Difficulty
The Nar Phu Valley Trek Kang La Pass is really challenging. This trek's tough level of difficulty is a result of the route's great elevation. Along the trekking trail, at a height of 5416 meters, Thorung La is the highest elevation pass in the region. This part of the journey is so challenging that it is closed for most of the year due to the extreme cold and heavy snowfall. Additionally, when traveling, you always remain above 3000 meters. Some of the most challenging terrains, which are typically harsh, rocky, and steep, are traversed. This makes the Nar Phu trek more challenging. Compared to many other treks, the difficulty of the Nar Phu Valley trip cannot be adjusted. Even though you have the option to skip some of the pathways, doing so would result in you missing out on the adventure's best moments. The only way a trekker can better handle the challenges of the Nar Phu trek is to prepare physically and mentally.
Travel Insurance for Nar Phu Valley Trek
The difficult Nar Phu Trek takes place at a high altitude. You will pass through Thorung La Pass (5,416m) and Kang La Pass (5,320m), which entails dangers related to high-altitude hikes, such as altitude sickness, landslides, etc. Therefore, travel insurance is compulsory for the Nar Phu Kang La Pass Trekking journey. Before the trek begins, each trekker must provide Good Karma Treks a copy of their certificate for comprehensive travel insurance. The insurance must pay for medical and emergency repatriation, as well as helicopter rescue and evacuation costs, up to the highest trek altitude of 6000 meters. After reserving a trek, we kindly ask that trekkers send us a detailed insurance form. In an emergency, we will plan a successful rescue using your insurance policy and other documents you sent us.

To prevent altitude sickness when hiking to Nar Phu Valley, take into account the following advice:
Keep yourself hydrated when hiking and stay away from alcohol because it dehydrates you. Maintain a healthy diet throughout the trip. Diamox, the most effective medicine for altitude sickness, should be brought along on the hike. Don't hurry when hiking to a high altitude. You ought to walk carefully and slowly.
