Food or Meal Availability on Lobuche East Peak Climbing with EBC Trek

On the way to Lobuche East Peak Climbing with EBC Trek, you will be offered meals in teahouses and at the campsites.

For breakfast, you can get a wide variety of food such as oatmeal, pancakes, eggs, bread with jam or honey, and cereals with milk. The teahouses along the trail serve hot drinks such as soups, black tea, milk tea, ginger tea, coffee, and hot chocolates, mainly to cater to the cold environment.

The food items include momo, pasta, noodles, dried soup, noodles soup, and fried rice. All teahouses serve Dal and Bhat with potato-based meals. This dish is very energizing and ideal for the whole day. We recommend this food to our trekkers because it is economical and can be eaten unlimited times within the rate.

It is possible to consume vegetarian or non-vegetarian foods during this amazing journey. Most of the trekkers concentrate on non-vegetarian meals, but we advise our trekkers to eat foods that are appropriate and vegetarian because non-veg items might not be fresh and can contribute to altitude sickness.

It is important to keep oneself hydrated during trekking and climbing. We don’t recommend drinking alcoholic beverages at high altitudes as they can cause dehydration problems at high altitudes. You can purchase water bottles at some tea houses during the trek. You can also find some places that offer a tap to refill water bottles free of charge, however, you need to use a water purifier or Steriphene tablets to be on the safe side at extreme heights.

Topping up on provisions during the trekking phase will be in teahouses, while during the climbing phase, you will be sleeping in camps. While attempting the Lobuche East Peak, people do not sleep in the teahouses as before Base Camp. You will have a good night's sleep in tents operated during Base Camp. We will manage all the materials needed to conduct a camping.

Lobuche East Peak Climbing with EBC Trek Difficulty

Altitude Sickness

When trekking at high elevations, there is frequently a chance of getting altitude sickness. The trekkers had a hard time breathing because of the low air pressure and oxygen deficiency. Serious issues like nausea, fatigue, lightheadedness, and insomnia result from ignoring issue.

Therefore, before ascending high altitudes like Lobuche and Everest Base Camp, trekkers must acclimate thoroughly. They must adapt their bodies to the higher region's climate and temperature in order to prevent the negative effects.

Weather

Seasons affect the weather in the Khumbu region. In spring and fall, the weather is moderate, but in winter, it is rather harsh. Due to significant snowstorms, strong winds, and whiteouts, trekking during this season is extremely difficult.

The majority of the time, the paths are wet and slick due to the snow. Trekkers will be shivering from the cold during the season, which might reach zero degrees Celsius. They will also have trouble seeing because of the heavy mist and approaching fog.

Additionally, the journey is not made any easier by the monsoon. The trek is actually made more difficult by the constant rain and lightning storms, which occasionally even cause them to stray off the path. Hikers participating in Lobuche East Peak Climbing with EBC Trek must so keep abreast of the weather predictions in order to prevent unforeseen circumstances.

Long Distance

On average, hikers will need to travel five to six hours every day on the main EBC trail. The hike from Lukla will be about 38.5 kilometers one way, which they will have to manage. The total hiking distance will also increase because they will need to climb Lobuche East Peak.

As a result, hikers must adequately prepare before beginning their journey. They must do everything they can to increase their physical stamina and endurance power, whether it means working on their physical fitness or going for short and lengthy walks. Trekkers will need to keep their stability on the path because they will be traversing a variety of terrain.

Frostbite and Foot Pain

Trekkers who hike in hilly areas with glaciers and ice sheets run the risk of developing frostbite and foot pain. Walking on these kinds of terrain might seriously injure your foot. The consequences of frostbite include numbness, discoloration, and skin freezing.

Trekkers will therefore need to use insulated climbing boots with spikes to stay warm and gain traction on the snow to stay safe. You can protect yourself from rain, dirt, and pebbles by wearing breathable gaiters underneath your boot.

It will take about a 3-hour break-neck hike to get to Nagarjun Hill, over 5000 meters above sea level. This place has remained among the leading areas of interest in tourism in Sherpa Valley. You can get rather steep paths coming through, and there is nothing for it but to climb slowly and steadily. You will see some amazingly close Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Kangtega, Taboche, and Makulu. After half an hour to an hour at the top, view the sites, take photographs, breathe fresh air, and descend back to Dingboche for lunch. One will cross a tiny village, Dughla (Thukla), where trekkers stop and have lunch. A part of the trail gives incredible insight into Taboche, Cholatse, Pumori, and the Lobuche Peak. Following the Thukla, the trail tends to get technical at the Thukla Pass (4,830 meters), where you will take a short break before continuing your journey. On the top of the pass, you will get another attraction, the Everest Memorial. These are the monuments constructed to commemorate the climbers and Sherpas who died on Mount Everest climbing. After the pass, the trail becomes simple again as you move towards the Lobuche. It stays along the side of the lateral moraine of the Khumbu Glacier and gives an excellent view of the rough topographies and other far-off snowy mountains.
