Hillary Suspension bridge on the way to Namche Bazar
Hillary Bridge, Epic Bridge, Suspension bridge, what ever you name it ! this is on the way to Namche Bazar, Everest Region, Nepal. This bridge is named after Sir Edmund Hillary which is often some
time scary feeling to some peoples due to the height it offers. Hillary Suspension Bridge is the final suspension bridge to cross before entering Namche Bazaar. While trekking from Phakding to Namche and walking along the edge of Dudh Koshi River, travellers have to move through this final suspension bridge before entering Namche Bazaar
It is just above the Dudh Koshi River or the white colour river always in hurry to move downward in ragging mode. This bridge is well decorated with colourful prayer flags and Khada (Buddhist shawl). Most of the traveller stop over the end of the bridge to take a good snaps and move forward swaying up and down, front and back and side to side.
Around 2 ½ hours after Hillary Bridge, you’ll spot the first houses of Namche Bazaar, your destination for the day. Very soon, you find yourself amidst the bustle of this vibrant Sherpa market town, whose large stone houses are built into the steep mountainside like a picturesque amphitheatre. You’ll arrive with plenty of time to go out for a walk in the late afternoon.
