Trip Overview
Annapurna North Base Camp Trek(4190)
In 1950, a French expedition team under the leadership of Maurice Herzog was the first climber in history to reach the top of Annapurna I. At first, the group decided to begin searching for a path to either Annapurna or Dhaulagiri. They headed to the North Face of Annapurna after concluding that Dhaulagiri was too challenging.
The Annapurna North Base Camp Trek, also known as the French North Face Route, has gained popularity recently. They arrived at Annapurna’s top without oxygen. They found the journey down from Annapurna to be both challenging and exciting. Dodging the snowstorm, avalanches, and other mishaps made for an insane descent.
Good Karma Trekking has crafted the North Annapurna Base Camp Trek Itinerary for those individuals who are interested in the wilderness and less explored areas in the famous Annapurna region.
We provide this unique trekking itinerary to those who are interested in exploring the northwest side of Annapurna I’s base camp. Although trekking is challenging, you can undoubtedly experience the Himalayas’ splendor from a variety of sweeping perspectives. Natural hot springs, Gurung culture, Hiunchuli, Machhepuchare, Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I, Nilgiri, and Annapurna South are the trek’s primary highlights.
Despite the trail’s abundance of natural diversity, only a small number of mountain lovers and adventurers are currently visiting Annapurna North Base Camp. Thus, a new and enduring experience is in store for you.
The North ABC Trek begins from Kathmandu to Pokhara; after that, you will drive from Pokhara to Tatopani and follow the Maurice Herzog trail route. Your real trek will begin in Tatopani to reach Narchayng village and Chhotepa. From Chhotepa, you will hike toward Sandhi Kharka, then finally to the north base camp of Annapurna I (8091 m).
After exploring North Annapurna Base Camp, your return journey will start through Sandhi Kharka, Thulo Bugin, then Lete in Mustang. From Lete, you will drive back to Pokhara and finally to Kathmandu to conclude this amazing journey.
Since there isn’t currently a lodge or motel along the new hiking path, you could find the trip a little challenging. To look after our clients, we provide highly qualified, experienced trekking guides . In the spring and fall, when you can see a rhododendron forest with red, pink, and white blooms, you will undoubtedly find this walk amazing and fascinating. Additionally, fortunate tourists may spot musk deer, snow panthers, bears, blue sheep, and other natural creatures.

The scenic Trishuli and Marsyangdi rivers, as well as the verdant Rocky Mountains, interconnected rivers, and tiny springs, may be seen throughout the route. Additionally, for an extra fee, we can get you an aircraft ticket. With only 25 minutes to travel from Kathmandu to Pokhara, you will have more time to enjoy the Pokhara Valley.
In Pokhara, you will have an early breakfast before traveling to Tatopani by Car or Jeep. The Kali Gandaki River’s bank is home to the natural hot spring known as Tatopani. You can take a bath in Tatopani if you have enough time or you can do it while returning from the trip. Your actual hike will start at Tatopani and lead you toward Narchyang Village, which should take you around two hours to reach.
As you go higher in elevation, you will stay in a tented camp; Upper Narchyang is the last place you can find an accommodation to spend the night. Following breakfast at Upper Narchyang, you will go on your walk in the direction of Chhotepa. Because of the rough mountain paths, the walk from Upper Narchyang to Chhotepa is quite difficult. There will be slick grassy areas and stone steps along the trekking path. Lekhgaun, Ghalemdi, and Mristi Khola must be crossed to get to Chhotepa campground. Your overnight stay today will be at a tented camp.
You will begin your journey toward Sandhi Kharka after finishing your breakfast at Chhotepa. The distance of nine kilometers will take you six to seven hours to walk. This hike will be fantastic because it will take you past stunning waterfalls and streams on your way to Sandhi Kharka. You will trek through the charming community of Humkhola, another amazing destination in North ABC Trek journey. At Sandhi Kharka, you will spend the night in a tented camp.
The most anticipated day of your entire North ABC Trek adventure is today since you will reach North Base Camp. The trip from Sandhi Kharka to Annapurna North Base Camp will be both amazing yet challenging. To get to the base camp campsite, you will need to trek uphill for almost a kilometer.
You will hike 10 kilometers in 7 to 8 hours to reach North Base Camp, where you will be able to take in the breathtaking mountain scenery. Finding the ideal campsite in the northern Annapurna foothills will be aided by a knowledgeable guide from Good Karma Trekking. At the Annapurna’s north base camp, you will spend the night in a tented camp.
You will have a great day touring North Annapurna Base Camp in the morning. High mountains like Annapurna I, Mt. Fish Tail, Himchuli, and Dhaulagiri will be captivatingly visible to you. Following your exploration of the stunning glaciers and neighboring peaks of North ABC, you will gather your hiking supplies and head back to Sandhi Kharka.
Following your morning meal in Sandhi Kharka, you will proceed to Thulo Bugin. You will pass through a lush rhododendron forest with small streams along the way. Additionally, you will have the chance to discover several kinds of wild flowers. If you’re lucky, you might also come across birds and other wild animals. The trip today is shorter and may be completed in six to seven hours. At Thulo Bugin, you will spend the night in a tented camp.
After breakfast this morning, you will set out from Thulo Bugin in the direction of Lete. On the way to Lete, you will traverse Thulo Bugin Pass, one of the highest passes. Hiking to Titi Lake is an intriguing experience, but it all depends on your level of fitness and desire to see this breathtaking lake. If you have enough time, you can climb downhill to Ghasa and spend the night there. Otherwise, you can stay in Lete.
You will drive a jeep to Pokhara today, marking the conclusion of your hiking adventure. You are astounded by the magnificent view of the Annapurna Himalaya during the drive if the sky appears to be quite clear. Early arrival in Pokhara allows you to visit the well-known Phewa Lake and savor the regional cuisine served on the streets. Another option for making the most of this trekking adventure is to take a boat.
This morning, you will wake up in Pokhara and take a tourist bus back to Kathmandu. Along the captivating Marsyangdi and Trishuli rivers, Pokhara and Kathmandu are separated by 205 kilometers. Several picturesque market communities, such as Damauli, Dumre, Mugling, and others, are traversed on the way from Pokhara to Kathmandu.
A member of our team will be there to greet you and take you to your lodging when you get to the Kathmandu Valley. This will allow you to freshen yourself before spending your last evening in Nepal shopping or exploring Thamel, which will effectively end your Annapurna North Base Camp Trek.
Based on your planned departure time, we set up an airport shuttle service three hours before departure. We can plan some side trips for you if you have additional time, or you may go exploring alone.
